Marubeni Corporation

Marubeni Corporation (“Marubeni”) has received an order of photovoltaic modules (hereinafter called “PV modules”) for a mega-solar project with a 52.5MW maximum output in the Isobe district of Soma City, Fukushima, from Renatus Soma Solar Park Limited Liability Company which was jointly established by Kyudenko Corporation, and four other companies. Marubeni will supply PV modules for this project which is scheduled to commence operation in June, 2017.

In March 2011, the Isobe district of Soma City was devastated by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake. As the local farmland suffered significant salt damage, approval was made in March 2015 to convert the affected land into the site for a mega-solar power station. Marubeni will contribute to the reutilization and revival of the affected land by supplying approximately 198,000 highly reliable Hanwha Q CELLS-built PV modules, of which Marubeni possesses a significant sales record.

Marubeni has over 20 years of experience in the solar power market from power plant and utility application to residential application, including the supply of raw materials, components, and PV modules. Marubeni will continue to contribute to the further expansion of the renewable energy market.
